What led you to seek a career in Pediatric Dentistry?

“Healthcare has always been something I’ve been interested in. I like the idea of working with my hands (I’m the daughter of a general contractor – I’ve always seen my dad work with his hands and create beautiful things as a kid, and I feel like I do that on a VERY small scale!). Even better, the best thing about pediatric dentistry is you get to see kids on a very regular basis and watch them grow and develop and be an integral part of that.”

What are some achievements that you have gained in regards to dentistry?

“I am a board-certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I also received the Richard Pugh Achievement Award, which was awarded to the top three percent of board candidates, which was a very exciting achievement!

Have you ever published work or been published before?

“Yes! I have had three articles published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Dental EducationSpecial Care in Dentistry, and Pediatric Dentistry. The articles I wrote were all regarding helping patients with autism spectrum disorders access the dental care they need and deserve.”

What are some of your interests outside of dentistry?

“I have many interests! I love traveling and seeing the world with my husband, Jameson. We love trying new restaurants and new foods together. We also have a dog, Desmond Howard – he is an 8-year-old cockapoo pup and we love him dearly. I also love to be active, taking barre and spin classes.”
